The two prints titled "The Embrace" and "The Kiss" were part of my baby series as a printmaker expressing my feelings at the beginning of a new and wonderful relationship. It's a very special and personal series to me because it marked the beginning of things between my now fiance and I, and it's a sweet memory of where we started and how far we've come (we've been engaged for 10 months now, we just bought a house, and we're getting married in June!).

In general, the two images of people embracing for a hug and a kiss are univeral expressions of love, and vaguely represent a man and a woman rather than specifically represent my fiance and myself. I intentionally created the figured in a non-specific way so that the audience can relate to it more so than if it was specifically myself and my fiance.

The use of the quotes about love, through the technique of chine colle, is an ongoing experimentation in my work to enhance the meaning of the images with specific text. To me, meaningful quotations often inspire an array of ideas based on deep significance behind the quote and how such quotes relate to my life.
